Eastern Market The District presented the new plans for renovating the historic Eastern Market at a public meeting at the National Building Museum on June 26, 2007. The presentation, "An Eastern Market Celebration," outlined the pre-fire renovation plans and the changes resulting from the devastation. A temporary structure for displaced vendors is now across from the fire-damaged Market on 7th Street, SE, which vendors will occupy in August while reconstruction proceeds.
